Cold Daiquiris

She said she liked cold daiquiris

I looked at her told her that is fine

Said she had something to say

She knew it would blow my mind

She said she was from Philly

I do not believe that is so

I think she was from Miami

She just did not want me to know

Said that her name was Cindy

I think it was really Mary Jane

Looked like a tiger in disguise

One who could never be tame

Asked her to tell me about her life

She did not have much to say

She asked if I could give her a ride

She said I would not have to pay

She was hotter than the brightest Sun

We got to my place it was not so nice

With one touch of her next to me

I started melting like a piece of ice

Looked in her eyes for the truth

I looked deep but saw none at all

Only an icy stare back at me then

She turned her head toward the wall

She did not say a word that I could hear

Asked her how she ended up this way

I could hear it in her trembling voice

I knew right then that she would not stay

She softly spoke at first when she said

That she had grown up cold and alone

As far back as she could remember

Her heart had always been gone

She was broken early and often

She had to grow up really fast

Any home with men she was put in

She knew that it would not last

Ever since she never stayed long

Had been running all of her life

She still is running to this day

Gets rid of her pain by a selfish knife

I asked her if before she did leave

Is there any way I could lighten her load

She said how about a cold daiquiri

I could surely use one for the road

Should I have done more that I did

Would she had even listened to me

Many thoughts ran through my head

As I stared down at my cold daiquiri
